Brielle of The Gilded Bellini

I did PR in New York and am now freelancing doing marketing and social media work here in SoCal. In New York, it was so different. I was working 14 hour days, I was unhappy at work and it just felt like rock bottom. After being surrounded by negativity there, it brought me down and I needed something positive in my life. I was ready for something new and that’s when I moved out here and it’s officially been a year since August 30th!When I was in New York I’ve always wanted to started a blog but just didn’t have enough time. And part of the perks of being in PR at the time was getting to find out all the best spots first. A lot of my friends and I always looked forward to brunch. The second we would get out of work on Fridays, we would just think of where we would go for brunch the next day and Sunday. And it eventually became a lifestyle for us.A lot of times we had to pitch different outlets, and what was interesting was that there was no one we could pitch to for cocktails or brunches because no one really writes about that stuff. Since I moved here, that’s when I decided that I’m gonna do it! I’m going to blog about brunch! So from the minute I got here, I got right to it and did the website on my own with no web experience, did videos myself without any help, and just hustled to make it work because I knew it was something I wanted to be proud of.It’s been going so well so far since launching since March and as with everything, there will be supporters and non-supporters. And people who say they support you but will talk about you behind your back. I try not to let that get to me, and that’s something I continue to work on because there is so much competition in the world of blogging and social media. Instead of fueling the competition, I feel like you can use your platform to meet people – to really make genuine connections with people and that’s a big thing that I want to continue doing!Moving here, I had to meet new people and really get out of my comfort zone because I was so shy growing up. You never know who you can meet who can help you along the way, and you’ll never go anywhere if you don’t put yourself out there. There’s a common misconception about bloggers that not a lot of people see – we’re our own publicist, content creators, editors, and balancing all that while having a job that does make income is really hard. Most of my friends have full time jobs and I try not to compare myself to their success. I just know I’m not meant to sit behind a desk for the next 40 years. Sure it could be that for some portion of the day, but I definitely feel like blogging has been something that I needed after being held back from a job I worked from 8am to 9pm every day since I was so constrained I couldn’t do anything else. And it’s just amazing to see how we can all work together and create something. There is so much work that goes into blogging, but it’s so worth it. There really is no excuse. It’s like working out, if it’s important to you, you just have to do it otherwise it won’t get done.

Who doesn't love brunch? She combines everything she loves in one place and adds that twist to cater it to any brunch occasion - from fashion, cocktails, and highlighting her favorite brunch spots... You've got to admire the tenacity in this girl. She's definitely someone who uses her keen eye for detail and passion for connection as a way to bring more positivity in both the online and real world. So keep up with her and don't be shy to join her on a brunch date! We can't wait until we do!
