As women of color, Black women, Latina women, Asian women, we don’t need to wait for these people to create these spaces, we can create the space for ourselves. This is also a lesson to myself because in the past I would look to people for leadership and this would be a sign for myself to make an impact in an organization, but I’m slowly learning you don’t need anyone to give you that ‘You got it, girl! Go for it!’ You can do it yourself.
